water for the desert...

I am a post-doctoral scholar at UC Berkeley. I work with James O’Brien in the Computer Graphics Group.

My main research interest is physically-based simulation -

In particular, I explore the mysteries of fluid dynamics and investigate ways to make numerical simulation more controllable for animators.

I obtained my PhD from ETH Zurich where I worked in the Computer Graphics Lab. My thesis on turbulent fluid dynamics was supervised by Markus Gross.

Before that, I studied physics (MSc) at Konstanz, and researched numerical modeling for environmental physics at the  Institute for Environment Physics in Heidelberg.
